You’re invited to our November Yes! In My Triangle Chapter Meetup, and this one’s a dual-action event!
We’ll start at Bull City Burger and Brewery at 4:30 PM for a beer and a casual zoning discussion. Then, we’ll walk over to the Durham Engagement Meeting at 5:30 PM to advocate for housing-friendly policies in the city’s draft Unified Development Ordinance (UDO). Your voice is critical in shaping Durham’s future housing policy!
Details below—hope to see you there!
Bull City Burger and Brewery
Tuesday November 19th 4:30pm - 5:30pm
We'll meet at Bull City Burger and Brewery for a beer + zoning discussion at 4:30pm. RSVP here.
Then go together to the Durham Engagement meeting on draft rules for the New Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) - a short walk away. Bring questions and thoughts on the draft UDO sections and we'll chat about how to best advocate for good housing policy and zoning reforms.
Durham is currently in the process of rewriting their UDO. They've been doing a ton of community engagement, but as can be expected, many of the people showing up for the engagement meetings are those against making any changes and some even want to roll back recent changes. That's where your advocacy is so important!
DURHAM ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Main Library, 300 N. Roxboro Rd
Tuesday November 19th 5:30pm - 5:30pm
Durham's DRAFT UDO engagement session starts at 5:30pm. This is a City event and will be run by the City and their consultants for the UDO rewrite - come prepared to listen and give feedback. Details on the engagement event found here. And most importantly, what's available of the draft ordinance found here including draft zoning districts, draft rules of interpretation, draft allowed use table, and draft new zoning map.
Looking forward to seeing everyone show up and help advocate!
